Goodwill is happy to partner with the Children’s Trust of Alachua County and Minority Business Listing Inc.
to employ and mentor Alachua County students in their summer work experience, while providing a pipeline of young talent for our community’s finest establishments.

STUDENT PROGRAM / SUMMER 2023
The TeensWork Alachua Summer Youth Employment program (TWA) provides eligible
students with paid internships and job opportunities that prepare them to succeed in employment. Students work with local businesses that offer on the job training and mentorship.
In addition to paid internships, students also receive training in employability, job readiness,
financial literacy, resume building and essential skills, such as communication and emotional intelligence. Students also receive the support and mentorship of a TWA Job Coach. Job coaches assist students through every step of the internship process in order to make the experience as impactful as possible.

STUDENTS ARE PAID $11/HOUR, AND WORK UP TO 25 HOURS/WEEK FOR 6 WEEKS


YOUTH MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING 3 REQUIREMENTS TO BE ELIGIBLE
■ Residence in Alachua County
■ Enrolled in an Alachua County school, general education development (GED)
program, or high school equivalency program.
■ Ages 14-18 years old

■ Develop social intelligence
■ Learn work norms and culture
■ Understand career pathways & educational opportunities
■ Build professional networks
■ Gain financial literacy and management skills

WORKSITE PROGRAM / SUMMER 2023
TeensWork Alachua (TWA) employs eligible Alachua County students through partnerships with local businesses. In addition to employment, students receive employability, job readiness,
financial literacy, and essential skills training. Throughout their internship students are assigned to a job coach, who acts as a liaison between the student and partnering business.
A key goal of TWA is to help businesses create a talent pipeline by leveraging the strengths of
local youth 14-18 years.

BUSINESS PARTNERS PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH…
● Up to 25 hours of work per week from 06/12/23 to 07/23/23
● Optionally, additional hours of work to accommodate scheduling conflicts from 07/24/23
to 08/06/23
